South East Water
At South East Water, we are a company with over 1000 employees, and we're committed to a thriving, resilient and inclusive environment with respect at its core and where diversity of thinking and being is valued.
Our vision is to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
Who are we?
We supply top-quality drinking water to 2.3 million customers in the south east of England.
Through a network of 9,000 miles of pipe, we deliver 544 million litres of water every day. It’s the skill and expertise of our employees that ensures our water meets the highest standards.
We make sure we can meet the needs of our customers both now and in the future.
To supply today’s customers, we draw water from more than 250 boreholes, six rivers and six reservoirs. This water is treated at one of our 87 treatment works.
To maintain such a vast – and vital – service, our business must never stand still. We’re investing more than £433 million between 2020-2025 to develop new resources, extend and upgrade treatment works and lay new water mains.
Our customers rely on a secure supply of our natural resource – water. That’s why we see our role as guardians of the environment.
Why work for us?
Our work to increase diversity and promote equality has seen us take big strides over recent years. Yet, we also recognise there remain challenges that need to be overcome to continue to improve our diversity performance within certain areas of our business, and we’re fully dedicated to effecting that change.
Our recruitment gives us a platform to address imbalances as we strive to attract talented candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds.
To ensure inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging, we actively participate in various networks and cultivate our own initiatives. Our business thrives on a multitude of skills and expertise, and we wholeheartedly embrace the uniqueness of individuals, their ideas, and the passions you bring to our organisation.
Take a look at the different ways we’re working to improve and hear from some of our people about why diversity matters within our recruitment process, our business, our colleagues and our customers
Our core values shape our culture and reflect what we’re all about.
Through workshops and interviews with colleagues across the business, together we have defined our own unique set of core values – trust, excellence, agility, passion and creativity.
